In Brief: SpongeBob starts wearing an old powdered wig that he accidently finds.

Story: A tour bus is driving down the road. The three band members are shown sitting inside talking. Ned, the lead singer comes out showing the guys his new wig. They all laugh and make fun of him. They snatch it off of Ned's head and play keep away with it. While doing that it accidently goes out the window. The wig flies through the dump and the cementary. SpongeBob comes out of his front door and the wig hits him, knocking him over. He gets up and the wig is on his head. SpongeBob walks over to Patrick's rock. When Patrick sees the wig he thinks that it's an alien attacking SpongeBob's head so he dives on him and tries to get it off. When SpongeBob stops him Patrick takes a bite out of the wig thinking it's cotton candy. SpongeBob tells Patrick that it's a wig he found and started to wear. Patrick can't stop laughing because it's so silly. Just then an alarm goes off in Patrick's shorts. He says it's time for his weekly condiment soaking. Patrick gets in a bathtub and pours mustard all over himself.

SpongeBob walks down the street. Everybody is staring at his wig and laughing at him. Everybody gives him compliments but he doesn't realize they are really making fun of him. SpongeBob walks in the Krusty Krab and goes up to Squidward who is sleeping. He asks Squidward if he notices anything different about him. Squidward wakes up. He doesn't care and ignores SpongeBob. SpongeBob then floats into the kitchen.

While cooking the patties SpongeBob scratches his head and hairs from the wig fall into the food. Squidward notices all the hair everywhere and calls Mr. Krabs. He goes into the kitchen and tells SpongeBob to take off the wig. Mr. Krabs agrees to let SpongeBob keep the wig but makes him wear a hairnet. He tells SpongeBob that if he sees one more hairy patty the wig is going in the dumpster. SpongeBob puts on the hairnet and starts to work. Sandy comes in to see if SpongeBob is ready for karate practice. When she sees SpongeBob's wig she starts laughing hysterically. Many of the Krusty Krab customers makes sarcastic comments to SpongeBob about his wig but he still thinks everybody is compliminting him. Soon he thinks that everybody is fighting over his wig and goes to hide in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, at Bigshot Records, Ned and the Needlefish are having a meeting with their producer. He fires the band and tells Ned to either grow some hair or to not come back. At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob is mopping the floor with the wig on the end of the broom. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to stop wearing the nasty wig to work and Squidward tells him he looks rediculous and it has parasites. SpongeBob tells them he think it looks cool.

Sandy comes to SpongeBob's house to talk to him. They walk to the movies and Sandy explains to him that he needs to get rid of the wig. Even the doorman at the movie theatre laughs at SpongeBob's wig. It's so large that it blocks part of the movie screen. SpongeBob tells the audience to stop staring at his wig, even though he knows it's glamorous and exciting. Suddenly, the crowd starts a riot and pulls out torches and pitchforks chasing SpongeBob and Sandy out of the theater. SpongeBob goes to the edge of a hill and lets his wig go free. Down below Ned, who is still very depressed about not having hair is walking. Suddenly, the wig falls down on him and he celebrates. Some time passes and SpongeBob walks down the street. To his surprise everybody in town is wearing powdered wigs just like his, even babies. It turns out Ned and the Needlefish have started a fad. He sees Patrick and at first thinks he isn't wearing a wig. He raises up his arm and shows SpongeBob he's wearing one under his armpit. Patrick tells SpongeBob he can borrow one of his wigs, but wants SpongeBob to wash it before he returns it. Body odor fumes come from the wig.

Patrick: *burps* Well, I thought it was a new type of cotton candy you wear on your head.

SpongeBob: Well, it's not, but that is an excellent idea.

Squidward: Can't you see how rediculous you look?

SpongeBob: I think that it looks cool.

Mr. Krabs: Hahahaha. You wouldn't know cool if I locked you in the freezer.

SpongeBob: For your information, Mr Krabs, Squidward has locked me in the freezer, so I think I know what cool is.

Movie Theater Employee: *after mob chases SpongeBob and Sandy out of theater* I told you that movie was terrible.

Observations:

Scooter Scooter has a different voice since Carlos Alazraqui left the show.

Rare Appearance This is one of very few episodes where Sandy is seen at the Krusty Krab.

Band Ned and the Needlefish are introduced as a somewhat popular band.

Repaired wig Patrick takes a bite out of SpongeBob's wig but in the next scene it's back to normal.
