In Brief: An old mattress of Mr. Krabs' Squidward threw out turns out to have been the location of all of Krabs' money, so SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward must retrieve it.
Story: SpongeBob shows up at the Krusty Krab one day and is heartbroken to discover it's closed, but Mr. Krabs is really just running late. He's been having back pains from his old mattress. SpongeBob wants to do something to make things better. He and Patrick go to the mattress store and test out some new mattresses to find a good one for Mr. Krabs. Squidward contributes by simply signing the card.
That night at Mr. Krabs' house, SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward surprise him to let him know they got him a new mattress. Mr. Krabs is outraged at Squidward, because he said it was all his idea, and his old mattress Squid threw out contained all his money. Krabs faints from shock. At the hospital, the doctor says Mr. Krabs has gone into a coma and won't come out unless he gets his lost money back. Because Squidward claims the idea was his, a police officer will arrest him if they don't recover the cash.
Patrick, Squidward and SpongeBob go to the dump that night and find the mattress behind the fence under a vicious guard worm. Back at the hospital, Krabs is wheeled out of his room to the hallway because he has no insurance. At the dump, SpongeBob and Patrick climb the fence to sneak the mattress away from the guard room, but they spin the fence around and Squidward gets stuck inside. The worm attacks him, and back at the hospital Mr. Krabs is wheeled onto the sidewalk because he's in the way of the vending machine. SpongeBob and Patick lure the worm away from the mattress and calm it down by playing fetch with a wooden spoon. Squidward, who is trying to snatch the mattress, is attacked by the worm when the spoon lands nearby. At the hospital, the administrator won't let the doctor keep Krabs on the sidewalk, so they wheel him down the hill. Mr. Krabs rolls right into the dump and is thrown off his hospital bed, onto his mattress. Reunited with his money, he snaps out of his coma. Squidward is chased down the road by the guard worm.

Patrick: I knew it!
Cop: Not so fast. This card says, "This was all my idea! Love, Squidward."
Doctor: Oh, no! This is horrible!
Nurse: What is it, doctor?
Doctor: This man has no insurance.
Nurse: He'll never be able to afford this room!
Doctor: You're right, nurse. Extract the patient to the hallway!
Squidward: You two quietly go in there. Remove the mattress out from the guard worm without waking the worm.
Patrick: Why not?
SpongeBob: Because that would be rude, Patrick.
SpongeBob: *to Squid on walkie-talkie* Worm Bait to Retriever, Worm Bait to Retriever, we're in. Out.
Squidward: Retriever to Worm Bait, stay in, don't go out.
SpongeBob: Understood. Out.
Squidward: No! In! Out.
SpongeBob: Understood. Out.
Squidward: Ok, so you two are dressed as Choice Cuts. You go in there and yell 'Trick or treat!' The worm will realize he forgot to stock up on Halloween candy, he'll leave to buy some, then we'll take the mattress.
SpongeBob: Run, Mr. Krabs! Run like you're not in a coma!

Squidward's Watch The clock tower on Squidward's watch is the Big Ben clock in London, England.
Hard to Reach The handles on the Krusty Krab's door are higher than SpongeBob's head.
Mattress SpongeBob and Patrick test at the store:
-SpongeBob jumps on a soft, bouncy one
-Patrick falls back into a harder one
-SpongeBob falls back onto a solid one, making a shattering noise
-Patrick tests a racecar bed and has a blowout
-SpongeBob sits on one with sharp needles sticking out

Pencil Sealed Away After Squidward signs the card, he puts the pencil in the envelope along with the card.
Krabs's Sleeping Habits Mr. Krabs sleeps on a bed in this episode. In "Squeaky Boots", "Mid-Life Crustacean" and "Selling Out", he has a hammock.
