In Brief: SpongeBob attempts to fly with the jellyfish.

Story: SpongeBob is enjoying another day of jellyfishing in Jellyfish Fields. SpongeBob watches them fly and sings a song about how he wishes he could fly with them. SpongeBob takes advice that his grandfather had given him and he decides to build a flying machine. SpongeBob builds an airplane but it falls apart before it takes off. SpongeBob tries several more things to fly, a bat costume, lawn chair and balloons, and a kite tied to a bicycle. All of them fail.

Frustrated, SpongeBob takes the damaged kite back to Bargain Mart. Lou, the cashier makes fun of him for trying to fly and think he's a nutcase. After SpongeBob leaves the store more Bikini Bottom citizens tease him. They get angry at him for thinking he's the only one with unfulfilled dreams and chase him. SpongeBob falls off a cliff, lands in a mud removal truck and then in a feather delivery truck.

Later, while drying his hair SpongeBob gets a phone call. He stuffs the hair dryer in his pants which inflates them and makes him float. SpongeBob is very excited and goes to tell everybody that he can finally fly with the jellyfish. On his way to Jellyfish Fields SpongeBob sees Mrs. Puff's snail stuck in a tree. He retrieves the snail for her. SpongeBob goes along and helps many more citizens. He retrieves Mr. Krabs' dime, saves Patrick from a mime, and gets Plankton out of the kelp.

Soon everyone in town is asking SpongeBob to do rediculous favors for them. SpongeBob continues to do helpful things. He even changes the light bulb in the Goo Lagoon lighthouse, although Sailor Jenkins still crashes his boat. All the towns people are chasing SpongeBob asking him for more and more favors. While running away from them Sailor Jenkins (whose now Cannonball Jenkins) crashes into SpongeBob, causing his pants to burst. Miraculously, the jellyfish all pick SpongeBob up and allow him to fly with them, while the citizens are burying his ripped pants. The jellyfish drop SpongeBob at his house. Patrick asks SpongeBob if he wants to go down to the pizza house for a slice. SpongeBob says he's had enough of flying. To SpongeBob's astonishment Patrick flies away.

Observations:

Same Name Farmer Jenkins has the same last name as Old Man Jenkins. It's unknown if they're related.

First Appearance This is the first, and so far only appearance of Grandpa SquarePants. Although, he was mentioned in "Rock Bottom."

New Job Lou, the ice cream and hot dog vendor now works at Bargain Mart.

Look-a-Like Mrs. Puff's snail looks exactly like Snellie.
