In Brief: SpongeBob thinks he has upset Clamu after throwing a peanut.

Story: The Bikini Bottom Zoo is having it's annual free day. Mr. Krabs is going around taking a bunch of free stuff including balloons, drinks and light bulbs. SpongeBob and Patrick are there to see Clamu, the giant oyster spit a giant pearl 100 feet in the air. They run through the stadium hallway and up to the arena where Clamu is sleeping. SpongeBob tries an oyster call but it doesn't wake up. Patrick gets bored and decides to leave. SpongeBob takes a peanut and throws it at Clamu. She wakes up and starts to move. SpongeBob calls Patrick back. The clam starts to whine and go crazy. Joe, one of the zookeepers comes running up to her. Clamu grabs him and throws Joe out of the stadium. The other zookeeper asks SpongeBob if he knows what happened to Clamu. Patrick speaks up and says only a jerk would upset a gentle giant.

While walking home Patrick tells SpongeBob that he wants to investigate this crime. SpongeBob tells him there's no crime to investigate and to go home. SpongeBob goes in his house. On the TV he hears news about the oyster. He's feeling really guilty and goes to ask Squidward for advice. He tells SpongeBob he can't take his afternoon beauty nap because the oyster is making so much noise. SpongeBob asks Squidward what would happen if he knew the guy that upset Clamu? He says that they could go turn him in. SpongeBob then says he doesn't know who did it and slams the door in his face. SpongeBob then sees Patrick, who is wearing a Sherlock Holmes hat and investigating the case. He tells SpongeBob that he's getting very close to solving it.

SpongeBob then goes to see Sandy. She is really upset about the oyster as well. She's so angry that she rips a thick Bikini Bottom phone book right in half. SpongeBob gets nervous and starts to twitch. He tells Sandy he has to go get his haircut and runs away. He goes home, talks to Patrick for a second and then goes in the house. Just then cops come and knock on his door. They have a few questions for him. They ask SpongeBob if he was at the zoo at the day of the oyster incident and if he was there with a Mr. Patrick Star. He then holds out the peanut that SpongeBob had thrown at Clamu. SpongeBob answers yes to all the questions. The cops then bring Patrick in with handcuffs. He tells the police that he was the last person he would have suspected but he was looking for himself the whole time. Patrick gets put in the police car and taken to the zoo.

At the Stadium Patrick is chained up and a huge crowd is booing him. They throw peanuts at Patrick and catches them in his mouth and eats them. SpongeBob bursts through the door and announces that Patrick Star is innocent. SpongeBob gives a little speech apologizing for what he had done. The crowd decides to throw peanuts at both of them. The zookeeper comes in and says that he's got the real criminal. He pulls in Mr. Krabs who is wearing a fake moustache. The zookeeper pulls off Mr. Krabs clothes accidently and then holds up the oyster's pearl which Mr. Krabs had stolen. He places the pearl by Clamu and it hatches. The little clam jumps on top of his mother and they both gurgle happily. The crowds awws at the sight and then looks over at Mr. Krabs. They throw a load of peanuts at him until he's totally covered in them.

Patrick: Man, if I ever see the guy who upset Clamu, I’ve got a few choice words for him, like “you”… and “are”… and… “a jerk!”

Patrick: *talking to the ground* Gotcha! Where were you on the day of today? Don't play games with me, mister!

SpongeBob: Hey, Patrick. What are you doing?

Patrick: Oh. Hi, SpongeBob. I'm just continuing my investigation of the great Clamu Caper!

SpongeBob: Um, have you found out anything?

Patrick: Yes! No wait, um… no. But this grain of sand looks pretty suspicious, and so does this rock! And I’ve got a few questions for this little piece of grass! *SpongeBob runs away* Don't worry, SpongeBob! Patrick's on the case! The truth will be revealed!

Sandy: Why, when I find out who caused that oyster so much pain, no more jiggery pokery! *rips the Bikini Bottom Yellow Pages in half* Now, what was it you wanted to talk about, SpongeBob? *SpongeBob stutters* Hey SpongeBob, how come you're all twitchy like that?

SpongeBob: Twitchy? Twitchy? Who’s twitchy? Sorry Sandy, I have to, um… um… go get my hair cut! *runs away*

Sandy: SpongeBob doesn't have hair. . .or does he?

Missing Signs When Joe is thrown out of Oyster Stadium the "Bikini Bottom Zoo" and "Annual Free Day" signs are gone.
