In Brief: Squidward competes against SpongeBob and Patrick in a dance contest.

Story: Squidward puts the finishing touches on a new trophy case he put together. He's getting ready for a dance contest. He thinks back to the all the training and preparations he has done to get ready. Squidward runs out of his house and right into a bamboo pole. SpongeBob and Patrick are doing the limbo and they tell Squidward he needs to go lower. They let Squidward know they're preparing for the dance contest. Squidward takes them in his house and shows them his trophy case. SpongeBob thinks he built a trophy for them when they win. Squidward tells SpongeBob and Patrick the trophy case is for his winning trophy when he wins and that he's going to ace the tryouts and go on to the finals. He goes out of the house but runs right into SpongeBob's and Patrick's limbo pole again. SpongeBob tells Patrick they better raise the bar.

At the tryouts Squidward sits on the bench and waits. SpongeBob and Patrick walk in and Squidward tries to ignore them. The loudspeaker announces it's time for SpongeBob and Patrick's turn. They leave and come back quickly and tell Squidward they got into the finals. Squidward thinks if they got in so easy he's a shoo-in. His number is called and he goes to the stage. Squidward performs a very weird dance and the judge tells him he didn't make the cut. Squidward tries to convince him to change his mind so he tries to grab the trophy but is thrown out. He cries walking to his house and once again runs into SpongeBob's limbo bar. SpongeBob asks Squidward how the audition went. He starts to sob but lies and says that he was such a great dancer he got banned from the competition. SpongeBob is very impressed and asks him if he wants to be their coach for the finals. Squidward agrees if they'll let him keep the trophy in his trophy case when they win. Squidward asks SpongeBob and Patrick to show him their dances. Patrick starts but gets a cramp and rolls right out the front door. SpongeBob goes next but his arms and legs wiggle around like crazy and Squidward doesn't approve. He asks SpongeBob to give him his arms and legs and he sticks his own arms and legs out of SpongeBob's body so Squidward can do the dancing.

The night of the dance recital arrives and SpongeBob looks out at the huge crowd of people that have showed up. A fish is already out on the stage performing. SpongeBob says he's honored to be in the presence of such talent. Squidward tells him they're losers and are here to worship him. A female voice announces over the loudspeaker that it's SpongeBob's turn. He walks out and like before SpongeBob is still using Squidward's arms and legs. SpongeBob begins to talk to the audience but Squidward grabs his mouth and stops him, telling him to let his dancing do the talking. Squidward starts to dance and the crowd goes absolutely silent. They think SpongeBob is hurt. Suddenly, Squidward gets a cramp in his leg and starts to hop around on one foot. Everyone has walked out except one man who has fell asleep. He wakes up and sees SpongeBob hopping up and down and he likes the dance. He calls everybody else back and they all love it as well. Squidward tries to finish the dance on the other foot but that leg cramps as well. He falls to the floor and starts rolling and spinning around as the crowd continues to go crazy over them. The audience throws flowers up on the stage. The judges announce that the unanimous decision is that SpongeBob wins. Squidward grabs the trophy. SpongeBob reaches in and pulls Squidward out and reveals him to the crowd. They are disqualified because there can't be any teams only single dancers. It turns out every single person cheated and had a partner. Patrick rolls around on the floor, still having cramps. They check to see if he has a partner. When it's found out he doesn't Patrick gets the trophy. He screams as SpongeBob tells him he loves his new dance. Patrick stops screaming and says thanks.

Epilogue: A boy is in his room rolling around on the floor and grabbing his leg. His mother comes in with laundry and thinks he's having a seizure. She grabs the phone and dials 911. He gets up and tells her he's just doing the cramp. She laughs and drops the phone. SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs come in and they all start doing the cramp.

Squidward: Ha. The two of you? Don't make me laugh. Come here... see that? That's where the trophy's going.

SpongeBob: You built us a trophy case for when we win? *both hug Squidward* Oh, you are a true friend.

Squidward: No, you twits. I built that trophy case for me when I win. I'm going to ace the tryouts today and then I'm going to the finals tomorrow and win the trophy. I am going forth to meet my destiny. Good-bye. *runs out but runs into the limbo bar again*

Patrick: Ruling, SpongeBob?

SpongeBob: I think we better raise the bar.

SpongeBob: Wow, Squidward. The crowd's gone silent.

Squidward: Of course they have. They are in the presence of a true artiste.

Fish: What's he doing?

Fish #2: Is he hurt?

Fish #3: I don't know man, but it's hurting my eyes.

Fish #4: I think I'm gonna be sick. *throws up*

Observations:

Epilogue This is the first and so far only episode with an epliogue.

Epilogue Appearance Mr. Krabs doesn't appear in the episode but does appear in the epilogue.

Parody The title is a parody of "Dirty Dancing".

Winning Trophy This is the second time Patrick has won a trophy by default. The first time was in "The Great Snail Race".

Mixed Up Together This is the second time SpongeBob gets mixed up with Squidward. The first time was in "SquidBob TentaclePants."

Butt Cramps This is the second time Patrick complains about butt cramps. The first was "SpongeGuard on Duty."
