In Brief: Patrick is next in line to be king.
Story: A starfish in a suit knocks on Patrick's rock. Patrick quickly closes his rock because he thinks the starfish is there because of his overdue library books. Patrick runs over to SpongeBob's house and makes a fire burning the books. Patrick tells SpongeBob that the guy's from the library and is gonna take him to jail. SpongeBob approaches the starfish outside. He asks SpongeBob if he knows Patrick Star. SpongeBob says he doesn't. The starfish then tells SpongeBob he's from the Royal Ministry and has a gift for Patrick. Patrick runs through SpongeBob's wall, eager to see what the present is. Patrick grabs the gift, which is a crown, and tries to eat it. The guy holds up Patrick's family tree and explains to him that he's royalty and is the next heir to the throne. Patrick doesn't know what a king is so SpongeBob tells him that a king can do anything they want. Patrick's stomach growls so they decide to go to the Krusty Krab.
SpongeBob and Patrick enter the Krusty Krab wearing medievial clothes. Mr. Krabs sees Patrick's robe and crown and assumes he has a lot of money. Patrick orders krabby patties, a milkshake and large fries. Mr. Krabs sets up a big buffet for him. Mr. Krabs then tries to convince Patrick to marry Pearl but he's not listening. When it comes time to pay the check Patrick tells Mr. Krabs he doesn't have to pay because he's the king. SpongeBob agrees and says that Patrick should have everything for free. When Mr. Krabs hears this he kicks them both out. Patrick runs into a customer and takes his food. He then takes comic books from a geeky fish and even a pacifier from a baby.
Back at Patrick's rock, which is now a castle he's continuing his rein of terror. SpongeBob continues to be his servant and wait on him. Patrick has Squidward's house moved because he wants to take part of his yard. Squidward comes out furious. All the townspeople are angry as well. SpongeBob finally has to tell Patrick he's acting like a jerk. Patrick goes crazy and scares SpongeBob, who runs off. He's furious that SpongeBob left him alone until he steps in front of the mirror and sees himself. He realizes he's turned into a monster. Patrick's runs out of his rock with the crown and happens to bump into the starfish he met before. Patrick gives him the crown back explaining he doesn't want it anymore and that it's nothing but trouble. He explains to Patrick that being a king is a lot of responsiblity. He then pulls out the family tree and reveals that a coffee stain was covering the true king, Sir Gary. SpongeBob places the crown on Gary's shell telling him he's royalty. Gary replies with a big grin.

Quotes:
Patrick: He's from the library. He knows about my overdue books. Which means I'm gonna get thrown into the big house. And you know what that means...
SpongeBob: Small portion meals?
Patrick: Exactly!
Geeky Fish: I finally did it! At long last, I've acquired issue #2 of Wonder Space Fish, and in mint condition. Now my 40 year-old life and my comic book collection are complete. Mom's gonna be so proud of me.
Patrick: No, she won't be, because these comic books are mine!
Geeky Fish: But, I've spent my entire life collecting those.
Patrick: Yeah, well, now you can spend the rest of your life crying about it! I'm the king!
Geeky Fish: I will cry about it. *sobs* I'll cry to my mom.
Starfish: Patrick, with great power comes great responsibility. You haven't a clue what I just told you, do you?
Patrick: No, uh-uh.
Observations:
Pat's parents We learn from the family tree that's Patrick's parents are named Herb and Margie.
Patrick and Gary Patrick and Gary are related, according to the family tree but it's not clear how.
Patrick's rock Patrick's rock is much too small to fit a large screen TV and an indoor swimming pool.
Book The book Patrick burns is a "Richie Salmons" book. That's a parody of Richard Simmons.
