In Brief: SpongeBob makes everyone laugh by ripping his pants in different situations...until the joke gets old.

Story: At Goo Lagoon, SpongeBob is entertaining Sandy on the beach when Larry the lobster shows up. He asks if the two want to go lift weights, so they go. Larry and Sandy are able to impress the crowd by lifting heavy ones, so SpongeBob has to join in. He tries lifting a stick with marshmallows on the ends, but it's too much for his weak self. While trying to lift the stick, he rips his pants. The people laugh at him and SpongeBob feels ashamed of what happened. Scooter and Sandy say he's funny, which makes him happy.

SpongeBob gets the people laughing by ripping his pants between a volleyball and a frisbee game. However, when he does his "ripped pants" jokes to an ice cream vendor and the people and chef at a snack bar, they get annoyed.

Later, when SpongeBob is surfing in the water, he gets caught in a wave and supposedly drowns. A lifeguard comes to his aid. SpongeBob pretends to be fighting for his life, until he gives another "ripped pants" joke. Everybody is mad that he could do such a dramatic thing, including Sandy, who was worried sick.

In a changing tent, SpongeBob sits and tries to think of another "ripped pants" joke. When he thinks of one, he comes out and performs it, but nobody is around to see it. Everybody is off doing better things, and Sandy is hanging out with Larry. He feels that he's the biggest loser on the beach, until three others come along and admit they are, too. Together, they perform a song about how SpongeBob ripped his pants and went downhill. The song is loved by the crowd, and Sandy tells SpongeBob to be himself if he wants to be her friend.

Observations:

Sand Pizzas and Hat When SpongeBob asks if anyone ordered twenty pepperoni and sand pizzas, he's holding nine sand pizza boxes and wearing a Krusty Krab hat made of sand.

Underwater Sun When Larry greets Sandy and SpongeBob, the sun can be seen behind him.

Disappearances In the area where Larry, Sandy and SpongeBob lift weights, at first three other people and a few other weights and barbells are seen there. Later, the other people and weights disappear.

Marshmallows The guy roasting marshmallows that SpongeBob borrows from puts the end of the stick in his mouth and eats off it to eat a marshmallow (ouch!).

Ice Cream Stains The ice cream vendor has pink ice cream stains on his clothes every time he is seen.

Microphone Speaker The speaker on the announcer's microphone at the surfing area is a crab's shell.

Surfing with Shoes SpongeBob wears his dress shoes while he's surfing.
