In Brief: SpongeBob and Patrick buy a spray that makes them invisible. They scare the people of Bikini Bottom by pretending they're ghosts.

Story: SpongeBob takes Patrick to "Palace of Pranks," a store that sells items for playing jokes. The two buy a can of invisible spray, which makes whatever the user sprays turn invisible. They leave the store to go and use it.

The guys think of a prank to pull and take their clothes off so they can spray themselves (the spray stains clothes). They get in a fight over who thought of the prank idea and end up using all the spray to make each other invisible. A man gets scared when SpongeBob asks him what time it is and he hears a voice but sees nobody. SpongeBob comes up with the idea to haunt people, as they're invisible.

Invisible SpongeBob and Patrick act like ghosts and scare people such as Sandy, Mrs. Puff, Squidward, and many others. A newspaper reports that the whole town is scared, except for the only brave person who has yet to be haunted: Mr. Krabs.

At the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs does everything he can to prevent any ghosts from haunting him. He thinks he "ain't afraid of no ghosts," but that changes when SpongeBob and Patrick haunt the restaurant. They trap Mr. Krabs in a bathroom and are about to burn a dollar with a match. Krabs tosses a bucket of water on the match to put it out, but it also wares off the invisibility spray on the boys. Not to mention, they're naked. Mr. Krabs just considers it all a good joke and has them go home. To their surprise, when the two leave the bathroom, a whole crowd sits in the dining area, cheering as they see SpongeBob and Patrick nude.

Quotes:

SpongeBob: *holding can of invisible spray* Wow! Invisible spray!

Patrick: But I can see it.

Patrick: I think since spraying the park bench was my idea, I should get the spray.

SpongeBob: Patrick, spraying the park bench was my idea.

Patrick: Yeah, but I said it was a good idea!

Fish #1: Ghosts!

Fish #2: Ghosts!

Fish #3: Ghosts!

Fish #4: Ghosts!

Fish #5: *holding bread* Toast.

SpongeBob: We're really sorry, Mr. Krabs! Please don't chop us up into little pieces and eat them!

Observations:

Seanut/Peanut The term "seanut" is used in this episode. It was also used in "Suds," while the term "peanut" was used in episodes such as "Mermaidman and Barnacleboy III, "The Smoking Peanut," "Something Smells," and later in "Pranks A Lot."

More Money SpongeBob pays several dollars for the invisible spray, despite the fact that he asks what he can get for one dollar earlier.

Tom The bus driver giving the tour who points out "two naked guys fighting over a can of paint" is the background character known as Tom.

"Wet Painters/Krusty Krab Training Video" Similarities Patrick also gets a hole in his abdomen in "Wet Painters." SpongeBob is also seen missing a hand in "Krusty Krab Training Video."

Too Scary for Water SpongeBob and Patrick do not wear their water helmets when they haunt Sandy in her Treedome. You can tell by their outlines under the sheets.

On the Map Shown When Sandy Flies to Texas...

-The map includes a picture of an oil tower, a cowboy hat, a bull, and a star (representing the capital city)

-Mexico is green

-Texas is yellow

-Oklahoma is red

-New Mexico is brown

-Arkansas is purple

-Kansas is orange

-Louisiana is grey

-Colorado is blue

Newspaper The newspapers SpongeBob and Patrick read are called "Bikini Times."

Nautical Nonsense In the newspaper, many of the words surrounding the photo with Mr. Krabs are mixes of letters (example: "fkdle sksokfdkiv"). However, there are some real words in the mix of nonsense, such as "bacon, eggs, and toast."

Tables All of the tables people sit at as they see SpongeBob and Patrick nude have one lantern. Many of the tables also have one or two empty plates and a wine glass.
