In Brief: Patchy the Pirate tells the story of how SpongeBob defeated the Patty Gadget.

Story: SpongeBob is cooking in the Krusty Krab kitchen when he hears a sound. A big, round, metal machine comes through the front doors with Squidward behind it (with his bad face acne!) Mr. Krabs asks him what's this contraption he's brought into his place. Squidward explains to him that it's a miracle and a marvel and can cook things at a fabulous pace. Mr. Krabs asks Squidward how the patties taste so Squidward hands Mr. Krabs one of them. Mr. Krabs admits the patty was yummy but says it sits like a rock when it lands in his tummy. He then tells Squidward he's already got a fry cook whose always on time. Squidward replies that his gizmo is faster and won't cost him a dime. Mr. Krabs asks how much it cost. Squidward tells him to just fire SpongeBob and tell him get lost.

SpongeBob is staring from the kitchen window. He pushes the stove out of the kitchen and challenges Squidward to patty war. Mr. Krabs waves a flag and yells ready, set, go! Squidward pulls the big lever on the patty gadget while SpongeBob flips twenty patties onto the grill. The crowd is very impressed. They cheered all full of glee except for Patrick who had to go pee. He dances around and runs to the bathroom. Patties pop out from Squidward's machine in a burst of hot steam. SpongeBob yells out that he won't be defeated. He took in some air and a dozen patties fills SpongeBob's cheeks. SpongeBob strains and sweats and shoots more patties onto the grill. Squidward tells him good try but asks how SpongeBob will do against his machine set on high. The patty gadget starts to shutter, crackle and shake.

Meanwhile, Sandy comments "What a schnook!" SpongeBob cries out he won't lose to that thing and holds up two spatulas and leaps like a spring. He fried up a hundred patties without even trying. Squidward was worried that SpongeBob couldn't be beat so for his one last chance he turned up the heat. He struggled and strained until his face turned dark blue then the lever moved forward and broke in two. The gadget started to spark and Squidward takes off running and yells to let him know if he won. The patties came flying by twos and threes, even dozens and hundreds. The gadget finally blew into bits and died with a boom. The blast was so loud it even woke King Neptune. The crowd cheered that Squidward's name was now mud but suddenly SpongeBob fell with a thud. Patrick, Sandy, Squidward and Mr. Krabs stand at a grave. Squidward cries and sets flowers in front of it. SpongeBob walks up to the grave and does a little dance. It wasn't SpongeBob buried down there. It was the Patty Gadget.

Quotes:

Mr. Krabs: I have to admit, that patty was yummy. Though it sits like a rock when it lands in me tummy. But I've already got a fry cook and he's always on time.

Squidward: Ah, but this gizmo is faster and you won't pay it a dime.

Mr. Krabs: Your machine sounds delightful. But how much does it cost?

Squidward: Hmm, just fire SpongeBob and tell him get lost!

Patchy: The crowd was very impressed.

Sandy: Wow!

Patchy: They cheered full of glee. All expect Patrick, who had to go pee.
