In Brief: SpongeBob wins a conch signal in a contest and then spends a day with Mermaidman and Barnacleboy.

Story: It's Saturday morning and SpongeBob is watching Mermaidman and Barnacleboy. During the show, it is announced that SpongeBob is the winner of a recent contest for making life-size mannequins of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy out of Krabby Patties. His prize is the conch signal, an object that makes noise when blown into used on the TV show.

Seeing if the signal works, SpongeBob blows into it. Mermaidman and Barnacleboy immediately rush to SpongeBob's house, thinking the sound was used to issue an emergency. They tell him only to use the signal if there is an emergency.

At the Shady Shoals rest home, Mermaidman and Barnacleboy hear the conch signal and race to SpongeBob's house. They find out that he blew it so they could help him open a jar of mayonnaise. Barnacleboy reminds him that he must only blow it if there's an emergency, but then decides that he can blow it every once in a while if they're given something to do.

SpongeBob sounds the conch signal too much for little things. Barnacleboy gets angry and SpongeBob admits that he just wanted to spend time with his heroes. To make SpongeBob feel better, Mermaidman tells him he can spend a day on patrol with the two.

While on patrol with Mermaidman and Barnacleboy, SpongeBob does things like drives around with them and meets the Atomic Flounder, an old villain of theirs. At a diner, the two ditch SpongeBob as he looks for a song in the jukebox.

When Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are outside the diner, their enemy, The Dirty Bubble, picks them up and traps them inside him. SpongeBob sees him and wants his autograph. With a pencil, he accidentally pops him. Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are proud of SpongeBob and take him on another ride in the Invisible Boat Mobile.

Barnacleboy: You don't even remember breakfast, you old coot.

Mermaidman: *on roof of skyscraper with Barnacleboy* When you're patrolling the city, you always have to be vigilant. Always on your toes, constantly alert. *SpongeBob appears on the side of the building holding a box*

SpongeBob: Hey! *startles Mermaidman and Barnacleboy, causing them to jump and fall off* *holds up box* I've got the donuts.

Mermaidman: You know, for a pain in the neck, he's a pretty nice kid.

Barnacleboy: Let's ditch him.

Mermaidman: Right behind you.

Observations:

Different Music This episode has different music played when the title card is shown than the other Mermaidman and Barnacleboy episodes.

Mermalair Entrance To get in the Mermalair, the couch at Shady Shoals spins Mermaidman and Barnacleboy around and dumps them into a passageway in the ground.

Running Water The shower is still running when Mermaidman bursts out of the bathroom when he hears the conch signal.
