In Brief: SpongeBob and Squidward are convinced that Mr. Krabs is a robot.
Story: SpongeBob stays up late at night watching a scary robot movie. Gary warns SpongeBob that he shouldn't be watching it because scary movies freak him out. SpongeBob goes to bed wondering if his mom, Uncle Sherm, or Gary are robots. He asks Gary if he is a robot, and then dreams of himself being chased by a robot.
The next day at work SpongeBob is really paranoid and thinks that everyone and everything around him is a robot. Mr. Krabs is in his office listening to the radio and counting his money. SpongeBob isn't focused on work and tells Squidward about the movie he had watched the night before. He tells SpongeBob to go deliver the customer's order. While walking by Mr. Krabs' office, SpongeBob hears him say that he's recharged. He looks in the window and Mr. Krabs' is talking to his radio. Mr. Krabs calls the radio station to request a song, but SpongeBob thinks he's speaking in robot code. SpongeBob then sees him doing a weird robot dance on his desk.
SpongeBob runs to tell Squidward what's going on, but at first doesn't believe him. SpongeBob tells Squidward to tell Mr. Krabs a joke, because SpongeBob heard that robots can't laugh. Mr. Krabs doesn't laugh at the joke. Next, SpongeBob tries to get Mr. Krabs to cry but that doesn't work either. SpongeBob tells Squidward that the robots in the movie had piercing red eyes, metal pinchers for hands, and they ran on batteries. Meanwhile, back in Mr. Krabs office he accidentley gets salt in his eyes. He comes out of his office, screaming with metal pinchers in his hands and batteries in his pocket.
SpongeBob and Squidward start to panic. SpongeBob gets on the phone to call the Navy. When a recording comes on he thinks that the robots have taken control of the Navy. Squidward announces to all the customers that robots are taking over the world. Everyone runs out of the Krusty Krab in a panic. SpongeBob and Squidward get together and decide to get information from Mr. Krabs.
SpongeBob and Squidward go into Mr. Krabs' office and tie him to a chair. Squidward begins slapping Mr. Krabs and asking him questions. He keeps trying to convince them he's the real Mr. Krabs but Squidward and SpongeBob don't believe it. SpongeBob brings out Mr. Krabs' blender, because earlier he heard him call his radio his little buddy. SpongeBob puts it on the table and Squidward smashes it with a baseball bat. SpongeBob brings out the toaster, the cash register and a few other appliances and he smashes them as well. After Squidwrd destroys the cash register Mr. Krabs' begins to cry and tells him that he loved it like it was his own and talks about the laughs they used to share. SpongeBob then remembers that at the end of robot movie, the guy wasn't a robot at all. It was just their imagination. He then runs away and leaves Squidward to take the blame.
