In Brief: As Plankton puts his restaurant open for 23 hours, Mr. Krabs opens the Krusty Krab for 24 hours everyday.

Story: Plankton is up to his usually ways of trying to get the krabby patty secret formula. This time he plans to get it from SpongeBob instead of straight from Mr. Krab's office. He puts up a sign on the Chum Bucket that says it is now open 23 hours each day. Mr. Krabs can't believe he is staying open for that long. He puts up a sign at the Krusty Krab that says it's open 24 hours a day just to defeat Plankton but Plankton thinks he is going to get the last laugh.

Everyday grows worse and worse for everyone, including SpongeBob. After Mr. Krabs sees trays of food being pushed out of the order window and onto the floor, he checks on SpongeBob, who is in a bad condition. Everytime he tries to give SpongeBob some advice, SpongeBob imagines him as a giant krabby patty. This frightens him into a corner. So, Mr. Krabs tries to get him back into the mood of making the patties. He shows him his spatula, the grill, and the krabby patties. But when he shows him the patties, SpongeBob goes insane. So, Mr. Krabs suggests that he goes and sees a professional psychiatrist. Plankton, who just happens to be listening in from the order window, sends in a flyer that has information about "Dr Peter Lankton" and his office. So, SpongeBob goes and visits this professional.

Dr. Peter Plankton tries out a few exercises, first, which go terribly wrong. He tries getting SpongeBob closing his eyes and imaging the krabby patties and then telling him what they are made of. Of course, it doesn't work. He then moves on to series of words that he will think of and SpongeBob will give him an answer of what the word he first thinks of. This does not work either. So, he resorts to his powerful method of hypnosis.This method is successful, only in that it puts SpongeBob to sleep but when he is asleep, Dr. Peter Plankton cannot wake him up after giving him a command. In his sleep, SpongeBob is surrounded by krabby patties but ends up befriended one because of the loyalty and friendliness it gives to him while he is in bed. The krabby patty tells him to wake up and he does. He gives thanks to Dr. Peter Lankton and goes back to the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that the Krusty Krab is no longer open for 24 hours because 23 hours will be plenty.

Spongebob: *repeating* Spatular.

Mr Krabs: *showing SpongeBob his grill* and here's the grill.

Mr Krabs: *Showing SpongeBob some patties in his hands* and here are some fresh Krabby... *SpongeBob starts screaming again. When Mr. Krabs pulls the patties away, SpongeBob's scream lessens. He pulls the patties out in front of him and continues pushing and pulling them forward*

Mr Krabs: Hmm, there may be a problem after all.

Plankton: We're trying something else. I'm going to say a word and I want you to say the first word that pops into your head. Ready?

SpongeBob: I'm ready!

Plankton: Work.

Spongebob: Work.

Plankton: Spatula.

Spongebob: Spatula.

Plankton: Bun.

Spongebob: Bun.

Plankton: See, the key is to say something different than what I say.

Spongebob: Oh, o.k. I've got it.

Plankton: Potato.

Spongebob: Poh-tah-to.

Plankton: Tomato.

Spongebob: Toh-mah-to.

Observations:

Graveyard Shift This is the second episode where Spongebob and the crew are working for 24 hours. The only other time they have achieved this is in the episode "Graveyard Shift"

New Item "Chumbalaya" is the new item on Plankton's menu in this episode. It's the same item that was a "special" in the episode "F.U.N." Seems as though Plankton forgot he already made Chumbalaya.
