In Brief: Mr. Krabs and Squidward think SpongeBob ate a dangerous pie that will make him explode at sunset, so Squidward decides to make SpongeBob's last minutes fun.

Story: A tired and unhappy Squidward drives to the work. Mr. Krabs reminds him that it’s Employee Brotherhood Day, where SpongeBob and Squidward exchange gifts that they made. SpongeBob presents Squidward with an itchy sweater made out of his own eyelashes, which Squidward rejects. Mr. Krabs asks Squidward if he has a gift for SpongeBob, but he never made one, and he isn't allowed to buy one.

Squidward walks into the Krusty Krab kitchen, upset that he isn't allowed to just buy something cheap for SpongeBob. He hears a noise coming from the outside, and discovers a ship with pirates and pies. At the ship, he asks if he can buy a pie to give to SpongeBob, but a pirate says they're bombs. When the men hear Squidward wants to buy one, one of them says what they said wasn't true, so Squidward buys one.

With the pie, Squidward marches back to Krabs' office and shows him the pie he claims he made. Mr. Krabs takes a piece and is about to sample it with some milk, but he drops the piece. The piece makes a huge explosion. While Squidward explains how he got the pie to Krabs outside, SpongeBob discovers it. The guys rush back in, seeing the pie missing. They believe SpongeBob ate it, and Mr. Krabs predicts SpongeBob will explode at sunset.

Because SpongeBob will be gone at sunset, Squidward decides to make his final hours the best. SpongeBob shows him a list of all the fun things he'd like to do, so the two go out to get through the list.

The boys do a bunch of silly activities, like showing Squidward to everyone in town and walking in reverse. At the end of the day, they finally get to the last activity on SpongeBob's list: watching the sunset together. Squidward remembers what Mr. Krabs said about SpongeBob exploding at that time, but the two go off to watch it.

When the time comes, the two and a brick wall Squidward built between them watch as the sun sets. The two boys do a countdown until night arrives, and when it does, an explosion comes from the other side of the wall. After more explosions, Squidward discovers that SpongeBob didn't explode, but he was just blowing bomb-like bubbles. Squidward ends up getting frustrated because SpongeBob isn't dead, and explains to him the pie he gave him was a bomb. SpongeBob reveals that he just left the pie in his pocket for when they could share it. He trips on a rock while carrying it and it lands in Squidward's face, causing Squid and the city to explode.

SpongeBob: Um...okay, I’ll try. GARY, YOU ARE GONNA FINISH YOUR DESSERT, AND YOU ARE GONNA LIKE IT!

"You Love" On the close-up of the "I (Heart) U" shirt SpongeBob makes, one of the "I (Heart) U's" begins with the U on the left side of the heart, so it would read "U (Heart)" or possibly "U (Heart) I."

Missing Eyebrows Besides eyelashes, SpongeBob has white lines above his eyes indicating he is also missing eyebrow hairs when he says the shirt he made for Squidward is made of eyelashes.

In the Back of the Krusty Krab When the pie bomb explodes in Mr. Krabs' office, there are two parked boat mobiles in the back of the building that go with the explosion.

Two Times SpongeBob checks off "In a Salmon Suit" twice on the Friendship List. Once after he introduces the townspeople to Squidward in a salmon suit, the other later on when SpongeBob checks off lots of activities.

Bandaged Heart After SpongeBob and Squidward finish every activity on the list but watching the sunset, Squidward has two bandages on the chest area of his shirt (from when SpongeBob opened his heart).
