In Brief: After eating a spoiled patty and being taken to Davy Jones Locker, Mr. Krabs vows to change his ways.

Story: SpongeBob finds an old krabby patty under the grill and throws it away. An alarm goes off and Mr. Krabs comes running into the kitchen. His pinch-o-matic went off and said it had saved him 5.2 cents. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob he isn't allowed to make another patty until that one is sold.

The next day, SpongeBob and Squidward try to sell the patty. It's so old it even has fog coming from it. Nobody wants to eat there and Mr. Krabs starts to lose business. Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to bring the patty to him. SpongeBob put it in a cage because it was growling at him. Mr. Krabs eats the patty to prove to SpongeBob and Squidward it hasn't gone bad.

After eating the spoiled patty Mr. Krabs is rushed to the hospital. The doctor looks at the chart on Mr. Krabs bed and runs away screaming. Suddenly, the Flying Dutchman appears. He tells Mr. Krabs that he has been too cheap and that he has to get what's coming to him. The Dutchman takes Mr. Krabs to Davy Jones' Locker. He begs the Dutchman to give him another chance. He agrees as long as Mr. Krabs becomes generous and stops being cheap.

Mr. Krabs returns to the Krusty Krab. He has a Grand Re-opening and offers free toys, refills and movies. Everything goes alright until Mr. Krabs receives the bill for $10,000 and there's no money in the cash register. Mr. Krabs thinks it's a bad dream and that he's still in the hospital. SpongeBob tells him that it's not a dream and Mr. Krabs loses it. He takes away all the refills and toys and almost tears a man's arm off for a penny. The Dutchman returns and tells Mr. Krabs he's earned a place in Davey Jones' Locker. SpongeBob tells the Flying Dutchman that Mr. Krabs' isn't cheap. They make a bet that he would choose SpongeBob over money. Mr. Krabs trades him for 62 cents and SpongeBob is taken away. He begs for the Dutchman to bring SpongeBob back and his wish is granted. The Dutchman tells Mr. Krabs that SpongeBob was talking so much he couldn't hear himself think.

Quotes:

SpongeBob: It's old and cold, and so very full of mold.

Mr. Krabs: You're not to make another patty until that one is sold!

Mr. Krabs: I don't understand. We haven't had a customer in weeks! I wonder if it's the new placemats?

Squidward: Wha. . .Placemats?! Have you lost your mind? It's that old patty you keep trying to sell everybody. It's gone bad.

Mr. Krabs: Gone bad? That nonsense! Bring it here, SpongeBob. *SpongeBob brings patty* Why's it in a cage?

SpongeBob: Because it growled at me.

Squidward: Mr. Krabs, I can't believe I'm saying this, but how could you trade SpongeBob for 62 cents?

Mr. Krabs: You think I could have gotten more?
