In Brief: Patrick tries to win an award by copying SpongeBob.

Story: Patrick wakes up one morning and the mailman delivers him a package. He opens it and sees that it's a trophy. He gets excited and runs over to tell SpongeBob. SpongeBob reads the name on the award and finds out it's really for him. He tells Patrick that he got it by mistake. Patrick is sad at first but SpongeBob tells him that he can win an award too, but he has to do something. SpongeBob suggests that he starts working at the Krusty Krab.

Mr. Krabs hires Patrick and he starts working. He tries to do several things, such as sweeping the floor and answering the phone, but can't seem to do anything right. SpongeBob teaches him to open a jar and he gets confident and excited. Patrick watches everything SpongeBob does and begins to copy him, even dressing like him. He doesn't mind at first, but it soon starts to annoy SpongeBob.

SpongeBob tricks Patrick by using a fake hand to touch the stove. He knew that Patrick would copy him and do the same. SpongeBob tells him that he knows Patrick has been copying him. Patrick tells him he just wants to win an award. SpongeBob thinks thoughts to himself but Patrick can read his mind. SpongeBob runs home screaming with Patrick following him. He accidently runs into Patrick's rock which is now painted like SpongeBob's house. He runs in the house and locks the door.

SpongeBob gets an idea. He comes out of the house, dressed like Patrick. Patrick wonders why SpongeBob wants to dress like a big pink loser. Suddenly, the mailman delivers another package. They open it up and this time the award really is for Patrick. It's an award for doing absolutely nothing longer than anyone else. Patrick is so happy that he hugs the award. He rips off his SpongeBob clothes and goes to sleep under his rock.

SpongeBob: Patrick, I think the award is for me. You must have got it by mistake.

Patrick: But, it's shiny.

SpongeBob: Yeah, but you know what else is shiny?

Patrick: Boy, it sure was nice of Mr Krabs to give me a job.

SpongeBob: And at 50 dollars an hour, too. When I first started working here, I had to pay Mr. Krabs 100 dollars an hour.

Patrick: No, this is Patrick. *phone rings*

Girl: Is this the Krusty Krab?

Patrick: No, this is Patrick. *phone rings*

Guy #2: Is this the Krusty Krab?

Patrick: No, this is Patrick! *puts down phone* I am not a Krusty Krab.

Customer: *after Patrick sweeps with wrong end of broom* Hey pal, did you just blow in from stupid town?

Observations:

Employment This isn't the first time Mr. Krabs hired Patrick. He gave Patrick a job for a few seconds in "Arrgh".

Opposite When SpongeBob first started working he had to pay Mr. Krabs.

Breathing Air Patrick only lasted a couple seconds without air in this episode, but he stayed on land several minutes in "Pressure."

First Time This is the first time an episode is named and completely centered around Patrick.
