In Brief: SpongeBob has to write an essay for Mrs. Puff's class.

Story: Class starts at Mrs. Puff's boating school. She tells the class to get out their pencil and paper and write down the assignment. They have to write a 800 word essay on what not to do at a stoplight. SpongeBob seems excited about the assignment.

SpongeBob goes home and sits at his desk to begin his essay. He opens the drawer and takes out pencil and paper. SpongeBob writes the title and his name on the paper. Hours pass and he still hasn't written anything. SpongeBob looks out the window and sees everybody having fun in the sun. Patrick is rubbing suntan lotion on Sandy. He sits back at his desk. It's now 6:00.

SpongeBob decides he needs to get blood pumping and does some exercises, even with his nose and eyelashes. He sits in the chair and starts to slide back and forth in it. Gary meows and SpongeBob offers him something to eat. Gary refuses but SpongeBob insists that he be fed. Gary eats all his food and crawls away. Gary leaves a mess in the kitchen so SpongeBob decides to clean it. At 10:00 he sits down again and works on the essay. All he writes though is a fancy "The". SpongeBob looks over at the phone and decides to call Patrick. He realizes SpongeBob is using him as an excuse not to write his essay and Patrick hangs up the phone.

Again SpongeBob goes back to his essay. He swallows a pencil shaving and must go to the kitchen for some water. Just then a delivery man comes to the door with a package. SpongeBob tries to waste time talking to him but he tells SpongeBob he has a paper to write. It's even being announced on the news. SpongeBob karate chops the TV causing it to go out. He lights a candle and starts having visions of his chair, clock and even his pants haunting him about not finishing his essay. The candle lights his essay paper and the whole house catches on fire. SpongeBob runs around the house in panic.

SpongeBob wakes up with the essay paper stuck to his head. He realizes it was all a dream. He looks at the paper and then at the clock. SpongeBob only has 5 minutes left before class starts. Suddenly, SpongeBob gets some ideas and starts to write them down. When he's finished he runs to Mrs. Puff's class with the essay. SpongeBob arrives to find the class empty. Mrs. Puff comes in and tells him she has to go to a teacher's convention and decided to cancel the assignment. She's taking the class on a field trip instead. SpongeBob is so upset he rips in half.

Quotes:

Patrick: Hello?

SpongeBob: Hey Patrick! What are you up to?

Patrick: Sleeping.

SpongeBob: That’s really fascinating. Are you having a good sleep? Any dreams you’d like to discuss? I remember on the. . .

Patrick: SpongeBob, you and I both know that you’re just using me as a distraction so you don’t have to write your essay.

SpongeBob: *gasping and stuttering* That is not true! I called to have an engaging conversation with you!

Patrick: Well, I'm listening.

SpongeBob: Uh. . .Marco!

Patrick: Polo. *hangs up*

SpongeBob: Yeah, well I gotta get going, Patrick. Got an important essay to write. *hangs up* Sheesh, what a chatterbox! Can’t he see that I’m busy?

Delivery Fish: Package for Mr. SquarePants.

SpongeBob: Great! Thanks! So, uh, you like delivering mail?

Delivery Fish: It puts bread on the table.

SpongeBob: Rye or pumpernickel? *laughs*

Delivery Fish: *under breath* Oh, brother.

Realistic Fish Head: In other news, local resident SpongeBob SquarePants only has a few hours left to write his essay and yet he continues to goof off. *fish head pops out of the TV* When will he learn?
