In Brief: Pearl uses her ideas to help the Krusty Krab become popular again, but they may not be good when it comes to money.

Story: At the Krusty Krab one day, Pearl comes to give new ideas for the Krusty Krab. Squidward tells SpongeBob before that they need to protect their positions from her, avoid being bossed around, and that the two will work together to do so. First, Pearl gives SpongeBob a new uniform to wear, which Squidward thinks is terrible. SpongeBob, however, likes it. Squidward and Mr. Krabs also get uniforms. Pearl tells SpongeBob that they'll turn the Krusty Krab into a teenage paradise.

Pearl and SpongeBob brainstorm new names for the Krusty Krab, as Pearl thinks that name has to go. After many suggestions, the two decide on "The Kuddly Krab." Squidward gets steamed up, and after someone mistakes him for a lady, he rips his costume and quits.

The Kuddly Krab becomes a teen hangout. Pearl gives SpongeBob an order looking for a salad. SpongeBob has never heard of one, so to stay hip, he makes two Krabby Patties. Pearl tells him how to make a real one, and after he does and delivers the order, SpongeBob is horrified to discover the grill missing. Pearl tells him fast food is out, and shows him a new menu consisting of nothing but salad and tea.

Pearl gives SpongeBob the task of standing outside the building dressed as a crab and waving. A man that drives by humiliates him, and he decides that he needs to be a fry cook. He walks back inside.

SpongeBob tells Mr. Krabs in the office that Pearl is ruining the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs disagrees, until he finds out that the new style is costing too much money. To save the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to fire Pearl for her, as he doesn't want to hurt her feelings.

SpongeBob is about to fire Pearl in the kitchen, but she breaks into tears right away. She says the Kuddly Krab is failing and it's cutting into her social life. SpongeBob tells her he'll fire her, so he does. She thanks him and goes off with her friends.

After Pearl's fired, SpongeBob discovers Mr. Krabs fainted on the floor because of the firing. SpongeBob brings him back to life with an emergency dollar. Mr. Krabs is proud that Pearl was happy about being fired, but doesn't know how to get his money back from all of the stuff bought for the Kuddly Krab. SpongeBob buys it all from him.

Quotes:

Mr. Krabs: I have an important announcement to make.

SpongeBob: Woo! Hooray! The new spatulas are here!

Mr. Krabs: Sit down boy, there's no new spatulers.

Squidward: *in an uncaring way* How disappointing.

Mr. Krabs: Say 'hello' to me Pearl. *puts out hands towards a pole*

SpongeBob: Hello, Pole. *hugs wooden pole Pearl's standing by*

SpongeBob: What's in the box?

Pearl: It's a surprise.

SpongeBob: I like surprises.

Pearl: Great, then close your eyes.

SpongeBob: *closes and covers eyes* I'm ready! *Pearl places a box on SpongeBob and keeps it there*

Squidward: Well, I like it so far.

Squidward: Well, sure it's a terrible name, but this [Krusty Krab] is a terrible place.

Pearl: *hugging SpongeBob* Gosh, you'd really do that for me? You're a great pal, SpongeBob. How can I ever thank you?

SpongeBob: Stop trying to break me in half?

Pearl: Deal. *drops him*

Observations:

Very Strange for Pearl Pearl seems to not be embarrassed being seen with Mr. Krabs at all, unlike most episodes featuring the two.

Krusty Krab Family Mr. Krabs mentions that the Krusty Krab is a family business (meaning family could be helping him run it or maybe he's running it as a tradition).

SpongeBob and Pearl's Suggestions for the Krusty Krab's New Name:

-Kutie Krab

-Kooky Krab

-Khaotic Krab

-Kissy Krab

-King Krab

-Kandy Krab

-Kool Krab

-Kowboy Krab

-Kurly Krab

-Kreepy Krab

-Killer Krab

-Kuddley Krab

Magical Boat There is a red boat mobile parked on the side of the Kuddly Krab when Squidward stands outside. About four seconds later, it disappears. When SpongeBob is outside in the crab suit later in the episode, it's there again, then disappears for a little bit, and reappears.

Teenage Adult One of the people at the Kuddly Krab may not be a "teen." The female fish in the yellow dress and white hair that SpongeBob gives a salad to and Pearl rides to the mall with is a teller at the First Nautical Bank in "Mermaidman and Barnacleboy III."

Chimney-Pops When the Krusty Krab becomes the Kuddly Krab, there are three lollipops in the chimney on the building.

A Totally Coral Term Mr. Krabs uses the term "coral" in this episode, which we find out in "Mid-Life Crustacean" means "cool."

Unreflective Mirror When Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob are shown in front of the mirror on the office wall towards the end of this episode, no reflections are seen inside (likely because it's painted into the background).

Floral Shell At the end of this episode when all of the stuff from the Kuddly Krab is at SpongeBob's house, when Gary is shown, he has three flowers on his shell instead of his red swirl (which I'm sure were from the Kuddly Krab).

Lots of Quitting Other episodes where Squidward quits his job at the Krusty Krab are "Big Pink Loser," "Can You Spare a Dime?", and "Squid on Strike."
